What is RESPECT?
RESPECT is a non-profit human rights organization committed to taking actions and raising awareness on refugee issues. We are an ever-growing network of educators, youth and activists in international community working together to build bridges between refugee youth and youth around the world. Our main three goals are:
- To build awareness of refugee issues among youth around the world.
- To connect international youth to refugee youth by pen pal letter exchange.
- To encourage young people to organize events to raise awareness of refugee issues amongst their peers and to raise funds for their sponsored refugee school.
Join Us!
We offer various projects and programs for both refugee students and non-refugee students. Please check out other parts of our website for more information on how we can work together. Here are some examples:
- Pen Pal Exchange Refugee students and non-refugee students exchange letters to personally connect with each other, learn about each other and further understand each other's situations.
- Translation RESPECT program has been translated into various languages including Arabic, Chinese, French, Hindi, and Spanish by volunteers. Translations of this website are published and used to make RESPECT more accessible for non-English speakers. Please contact us if you can help to translate RESPECT into your local language.
- Your Stories: RESPECT is seeking submission of your experience to be placed on our website and/or in our publications. Nothing is more powerful than real people telling the real stories that happened to them and we hope to expose international youth to refugee experiences through your stories. We look forward to your participation!
