Outgoing Nigerian RESPECT Co-ordinator Bids Farewell
At the end of 2003, Olumuyiwa Oladunni, or Oke as he is called by his friends, bowed out from his role as co-ordinator of RESPECT Nigeria. He is now set to continue his humanitarian work by founding his own organization.
"I pulled out of RESPECT to establish my own company known as the Wanilake International Company. I am currently in the process of establishing the Wanilake Foundation, which will offer grants to non-governmental organisations working in the area of children development," he says.
Olumuyiwa looks back on his time with RESPECT fondly, although his dearest wish for RESPECT is that it ceases to exist.
"My dream for RESPECT is for it to run out of business. It always pains my heart that a group of people called "Refugees" exist in the world. Take the time to visit a Refugee camp to see their living conditions, and you will surely marvel. We must all work hard to make this work a peaceful place," he says.
RESPECT takes this opportunity to thank Oke for all his work and wish him all the best for the future.
