First Computer Training Class

Achiro Florence
On Monday the 3rd May 2004 the first computer training class began for 26 students at the Agoro Community Development Association (ACDA) Community Refugee Computer Centre in Northern Uganda. The students took the training during their first holiday.
There were fewer students than expected because of the fear of being ambushed, abducted, or killed by the Lord's Resistance Army.
There were interruptions during the training due to unstable power (Hydro Electric power) in Kitgum Town, and the absence of a generator in the centre.
But the students enjoyed the training and finished well marking in their minds that they are the pioneers of the Community Refugee Computer Centre.
