Letter From A Refugee Student
Dear Mr. Marc Schaeffer,
I am Sedekie B. Kamara, student council president of the Laine Refugee School [Guinea] and contact person on penfriend issues.
My heart transformed into a bonanza of joy when I received your tremendous and excellent letter. Thank you for your concern and efforts in wishing to assist us with computers.
The Laine Refugee School is the sole source of primary and secondary education thus making it the most momentous institution here.
The problem with our pen-pal letter replies were due to circumstances outside of our control. Some of the students have left for Liberia on their own because of the cessation of the rebel war in Liberia. And others have gone to Conakry (the capital city of Guinea) for resettlement interview.
However, I have distributed the letters to the addressees present. The school remains as populated as though no student have set foot off the camp. Our school only received ten of your letters which is insufficient for the hundreds of students who are impatiently willing to establish relations (penpalship) with your school but we do not know students' enrollment and how many students are willing to be our friends. More than 50% of the students are asking me to give them the remaining six letters for the addressees that are absent. But I was keeping them to contact the rightful owners in maintanance of my trustworthiness and honesty. But when I received your email from Samuel Cooper, I deemed it neccessary to give the letters to interested students. I don't know whether your students will be OK with this.
I have attached great importance to your letter before my fellow students and the school's administration as well.
Best esteem,
Sedekie B. Kamara
