Marc Schaeffer's laptop stolen at his school
Having my lap top computer stolen from me has implications for both myself and RESPECT in general.
First, about two years of e-mail were lost. If you have a folder of RESPECT email and you are able to forward it to me in a format that would allow me to import the e-mail I would be indebted to you.
Second, as this laptop was not convenient for transfering files, I have lost a number of files that I hadn't yet transfered to my desktop. As a result, please consider forwarding documents and files to me that you think I might want to have archived. I'll delete what I don't need.
Third, as the laptop was stolen last Thursday, if you have sent me e-mails and have not received a reply, please resubmit your e-mail to me and I will reply to you as soon as possible.
Fourthly, as contact and other information was on that laptop (letterhead, electronic signature, e-mail addresses and phone numbers), if you receive correspondence from someone relating to RESPECT work that seems out of sorts -- please treat it with suspicion and contact me directly.
Lastly, words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. It isn't fun losing a laptop -- let me tell you!
