More Recognition For RESPECT International

The significant achievements of RESPECT International are being recognised throughout the world, the latest acknowledgement coming from Pambazuka News.

The article, which was published on December 12, 2007 and was written by Ms. Nadia El Sherbini, an active RESPECT volunteer. It describes the origins of RESPECT, attributing the development and growth to Marc Schaeffer, the founder and president of the organisation.

It introduced Marc as a man whose simple wish to help children in refugee camps has expanded into something much larger.

It stated that from the hard work and the dedicated investment of time and efforts by a number of teaching professionals, RESPECT University (RU) was established, providing a place where refugees get an opportunity for a post-secondary education.

In the article, Pambazuka News recognises that all children deserve an opportunity for free education and gives due credit to RESPECT as a crucial player in achieving this noble goal.

Pambazuka News, which is a web forum for social justice in Africa, is produced by a pan-African community of some 300 citizens and organizations including academics, policy makers, social activists and writers, among others.
